Public KB: Steps to install an office printer on a Windows PC.

Office Printer Installation

Note: You must have the Novell iPrint client installed for these instructions to work.

Note: Internet Explorer 9 users must first click the Start Orb > All Programs > right-click Internet Explorer > click Run as administrator before following the proceeding instructions.

  1. Log in to myIPFW.
  2. You will be taken to the main myIPFW window. There will be an Information Technology channel on the My Home tab.
  3. Click the My Printers link.
  4. Click the name of the printer you would like to install.
  5. Click the Install printer link under Printer operations (If the Install printer like does not appear, you may already have the printer installed).
    1. A window will open asking you to confirm installation.
  6. Click OK.
    1. The driver will install and configure itself automatically.
    2. A window will open stating the install completed successfully.
    3. If you receive an error: "Access is denied. Error group: Windows; Error code: 5" it means you are not logged in with a computer that has administrative rights.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close your browser after signing out of myIPFW.
